This month: Do you know what I did? 🤑

The habit of giving freely,
without expecting
anything in return”

Dear Champs,

Do you know what I did? I gave money away. Just like that to help a friend in need.
You see. It’s one of my goals with to give away 2% of my profits to charity.
BUT … I haven’t been making any profits ever since I started, and I have been investing time, energy and my own funds to have it online and to be able to actually keep it online. Yes, it’s a close call this year. That’s another story for another time.
And for now, this is most important to me: TRUE generosity!

I figured if I am going to wait until I make some profit with my business, it will take too long before I can give the money away.
My friend Cesar needed help now.

And since I don’t have much money for the rainy days myself, I asked my family to help me and my partner, Hugo to raise money to support Cesar.
We all added money to a ‘Help-Cesar-Now’ Jar and within a day we had raised €550. We’ve already transferred the money to him, so he can house & feed himself, his wife and his stepdaughter for the next 5 months. Yes, months!

Hugo and I met Cesar when we went to Mozambique in 2014 and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. He worked at the restaurant of the retreat centre where I taught Yoga at the time. When he reached out to me last week saying that this year is really (!) difficult for him, I immediately felt … “We need to do something now!”.

So, I did.
Just because I can.
And because I want to help.
I wish I had the funds to help more people. Who knows I will be able to offer all my profits to charity one day soon. And I’m crossing fingers here that I can do that very soon.

The biggest help I could give Cesar at the moment was money.
Not all of us have a paid job. Take Cesar’s example. He has a job, but his boss simply said: “We work in tourism, there are no tourists now, so I can’t pay you!”.

And I can tell you this. In Mozambique a lot of local people are being paid €30-120 maximum per …. MONTH for a full-time job. And full-time there is definitely more than 5 working days and more than 8 hours a day. That’s slavery if you ask me.

You see. This NEEDS TO CHANGE!

I know a lot of us are struggling at the moment in all kinds of ways. And there’s so much I can tell you about the greed that I see around me. The most important thing is that it hurts. Why can’t people just do something for someone else without expecting anything in return?

SO, my biggest request for now is:
PLEASE help those in need!
Don’t wait until the leaders of our countries will.

Take action yourself.
Do you know someone who could use help?
Ask them: “What can I do for you?”
Just do it.

And please share your “Do you know what I did?” story with me:, so I can share them with you all in my next newsletter.

And in case you’d like to help, all financial help is welcome. I will use it to keep online and to keep on expanding it and to pay the team and myself back for all the time, energy and love we put in weekly. And of course, I will use your contribution also to continue supporting those around me who need it more than me!
